Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,
who alone does marvellous deeds.
Praise be to his glorious name forever;
may the whole earth be filled with his glory.
Amen and Amen.
At this time of year we get to hear and see all the classics don’t we? The top 10 Christmas songs, the Nations Favourite Carols, the top 10 Christmas films of all time. And I am going to be honest, I love them all. This season is a wonderful time of year and one that fills us all with something special.
With the excitement and energy and dare I say joy of the season I think it is really easy for us to miss the point, to forget the deeds done by our Heavenly Father and let it all slide by.
When was the last time you stopped to really think about what Christmas really means. Not the giving of presents, or family time, or even the birth of Jesus - although that is linked.
What I am talking about is the fact that despite all we do, God embraces us and loves us all. Jesus birth shows us that God cares. More than that, God is invested in finding a way for us to be with Him again.
Jesus birth is one of the top three marvellous deeds of God. In my view the top three deeds (in no particular order) are - Creation, The Birth of Jesus, and his Death and Resurrection.
God does something so amazing with each of these events, it is important to remember to worship Him and acknowledge everything that means for you and for me.
This day, why not stop for just 10 minutes and praise God for these top 3 things and many a few more beside that are important to you.
