Many of our Church Groups are restarting this month. Please see our Calendar for more information with regard to what is currently on at the Church. For more information, please Contact Us. Update as at 21st July 2021
As you will be aware the government has announced that England will move to Step 4 of the COVID Restrictions on Monday the 19th July. This effectively means that there are now no more legal restrictions on our meeting together. Whilst this is wonderful news, the Ministers and Trustees are also very aware that COVID infection rates remain very high and although the link between infection and serious illness has been weakened, it still remains a threat to anyone who is in a vulnerable group. While removing all legal restrictions, the Government is also advising people to be cautious when travelling on public transport and meeting with others in enclosed spaces. With this in mind, and in consultation with the Baptist Union’s latest advice, we are moving forward from Sunday the 25th July as follows;
During the Pandemic we have instigated several ways of communicating which we feel we will no longer need now that we are able to be back together again. So, from July 25th we will no longer be hosting Zoom coffee. This has been a wonderful way to keep in touch and we are very grateful to Jonathan Edney for hosting this. The weekly newsletter will continue to be emailed round and once a month will also contain the SignPost material for your prayers. Anyone not on email will receive a copy in the post. The monthly Connect will no longer be produced, with information being included in the weekly newsletters. CD’s of the service will still be available but only by request after July 25th. The morning services will continue to be streamed on YouTube. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Pammy for all the wonderful ways she has communicated with us all over the last 16 months, and Alan and his team of technical people for the way they have produced online worship and continue to allow our services to be streamed on YouTube. We also remain very thankful for the work of our marshalling team under the leadership of Richard Goodfellow; please continue to support and assist them in any way you can. For those who have faithfully delivered material to those who are shut in we are truly grateful. As a church we have pulled together and looked after each other and our community and we should feel very affirmed by all that has happened. Now we can look forward to being together once more and making Jesus known to Croxley and beyond. If you have any concerns, please contact one of the ministers and we look forward to seeing you all in church soon. Update as at 19th April 2021
Our Services will remain online until 23rd May when selected bubbles will be invited to attend Church in person. These bubbles will rotate on a weekly basis. Invitation will be limited in numbers to ensure that we comply fully with covid restrictions and as such, our services will continue to be streamed online at 10.30am. Youth Work Our youth work is beginning to return to some face-to-face sessions, either on the Church grounds (outdoors wherever possible) or locally outdoors. Please check the Church Calendar for up-to-date information on which sessions are running. Other Church Groups/External Groups Apart from Renew Wellbeing and the Food Bank, other groups will not be restarting for the foreseeable future. Renew Wellbeing (Thursday mornings) and the Foodbank (Monday afternoons 1-3pm) will continue as usual. Update as at 4th March 2021
Following a meeting to assess a covid safe route back to returning to the Church building we are pleased to announce: Worship Online worship will continue for the foreseeable future. On Easter Sunday we will hold our first OUTDOOR communion service on the Church grounds. In May we will begin inviting members of the congregation from selected bubbles to gather on Sundays within the Church (or outside if weather permits). We will continue to invite bubbles to attend the Church each week until covid restrictions are lifted at the end of June. Youth Work Our youth work will remain online until after Easter, from which point there will be some groups returning to sessions on the Church grounds (outdoors wherever possible). This again will continue until the end of June when hopefully covid restrictions will be lifted. With our love and prayers The Ministry Team Update as of 14th March 2020
As a team we are monitoring the situation regarding Coronavirus, and are making decisions to care for those most vulnerable in our community. We will be holding our services tomorrow at 9:15am and 11am, as long as current recommendations remain unchanged, but please be aware of Government advice. If you find yourself with either a cough or a temperature we would ask you to please think of others who may be more vulnerable than yourself and stay at home.. Should you not be able to join us, we will be live streaming our services on our Facebook page and are looking at how we can put a video of the service here on the website. In terms of our worship together these are the changes we are making following the advice from the Baptist Union.
With love from the Ministry Team Update as of 13th March 2020
In light of the recent advice and changes on the Coronavirus situation, we just wanted to contact you all to reassure you and keep you updated. Our plan at present, is to carry on as normal, but with some common sense precautions. We are asking all groups that use the Church to wipe down door handles and light switches after use and to be very diligent in hand washing. We are acting on advice from the Baptist Union regarding communion and meeting together. Normal Church services and communion will go ahead this week, but with some alterations. We already give individual cups and we will be providing individual pieces of bread, rather than the one loaf. We will continue to meet together, until told otherwise, but please be aware of the Government advice. If you find yourself with either a cough or a temperature, please think of others who may be more vulnerable than yourself and stay at home if you have either of these symptoms. In the event of matters being escalated, we shall respond according to Government advice and will try and provide appropriate pastoral care for those who may be isolated or anxious. We will endeavour to keep you informed as to future events. Perhaps you’d like to join with me in this “Prayer for a Pandemic”: Dear Lord May we who are merely inconvenienced remember those whose lives are at stake. May we who have no risk factors remember those who are most vulnerable. May we who have the luxury of working from home remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent. May we who have the flexibility to care for our children when their schools close, remember those who have no options. May we who have to cancel our trips remember those who have no safe place to go. May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market remember those who have no margin at all. May we who settle in for a quarantine at home remember those who have no home. As fear grips our country, let us choose love. During this time, when we cannot physically wrap our arms around each other, let us find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbours. Amen. Love from Lisa and the Ministry Team |
