Christmas Trail stop 3
Journey to bethlehem

Journey to Bethlehem - 29 Fuller Way (download route map)
CHILDREN

A long, long time ago the ruler in charge of Jerusalem wanted a census to count how many people lived there, so he could get money from them for the government to spend. He told everyone to go back to their home town to be counted. Mary and Joseph had to leave Nazareth, and travel 100 miles to Bethlehem, with no car! Can you guess what they might have used to help them travel all that way?

ADULTS
Luke 2v1-5 The Bible

Joseph and Mary travelled from Nazareth to Bethlehem - a distance of 100 miles.  A long journey, over roads that they did not know.  A journey they did not choose.  An inconvenient journey too - for Mary was about to give birth.

We may not have travelled far in distance this year.  Yet the journey of the year has seemed long and inconvenient in so many ways.

  • Who has helped you travel the journey?
  • Where have you been aware of God travelling with you?  Give thanks.
